What Did You Do During Spring Break?

Spring break happened just a few weeks ago, giving Vol State students time to step away from classes and recharge before the final stretch of the semester. Whether it was traveling, working, relaxing, or trying to get caught up on schoolwork, every student spent their breaks differently. We sent out a survey last week to ask students what their main goal during spring break was, where they traveled, what they were most looking forward to, and if students think spring break is important.

The first question was, “Where did you travel during spring break, if so, where?” This question got a variety of different responses, with 5% of the respondents saying that they traveled during spring break. A lot of people also took the time of spring break just to stay at home and recharge before classes started back, with 61% of the respondents saying they just stayed at home. There was also one student that traveled without taking a car, plane, or Uber, saying their spring break destination was the “refrigerator.” No flights, no hotel fees, just a quick trip with guaranteed snacks.

Another question asked was, “Do you think spring break is important, and why?” There was a total of 145 responses on this question, and all of them besides 2 said they thought it was important, with one of those two responses saying “not for me” and the other saying “it is a waste of time and I would rather get my classes done.”

We also asked, “What is your main goal during spring break?” with the majority of the respondents saying that they want to take the time to relax and recharge during the weeklong break.

Overall, it seems like most of the Vol State students took this time during spring break to de-stress before the final stretch of the semester and getting ready for finals coming up next month.
